For all to grow in fullness and freedom
The KORU Project is a team of arts therapists, psychotherapists and mentors based in Dorset, in the U.K.
We provide creative, trauma-informed therapeutic support for children, families, young people and adults.
Our practice is a compassionate, relationship-based approach offered through a wide range of specialisms including art, music, play and drama therapy, sports coaching, mentoring, forest school and bespoke specialist provision in education.

Therapeutic Services

"Koru is very responsive, child-sensitive and child-friendly; able to adapt absolutely to the needs of young people, realistic but positive about outcomes.
Knowledgeable. Experienced. Total flexibility."
Organisation

“Young people are able to explore their hurts and pains, often for the first time, in a safe setting.”
Organisation

"The Koru training in our school has really had an impact on helping staff to respond supportively to children and young people with complex needs. Staff now have a range of strategies to help our students regulate their emotions more appropriately. Thank you Koru for your bespoke training and support."
School

‘Koru has helped me inside and out.’
Young Person

"I get things off my chest here at Koru."
Young Person

“Most of the clients we refer are emotionally battered and the fact that they have engaged with sessions demonstrates the value they place on the support.”
Organisation

“When you find someone you trust, you tell them things and it helps.”
Young Person

"I’ve had the best day ever!"
Child Attending BSP

"This approach has transformational positive effects on young people where other interventions
haven’t worked."
Organisation

"A wonderful team who are dedicated to supporting some of the most vulnerable young people."
Organisation

"The Koru Project is very valuable; it fills a gap in Dorset’s provision. There is no alternative agency available. It overlaps with CAMHS (and works in close co-operation where relevant) but provides a significantly different service. It has a hugely beneficial effect on our vulnerable children, especially our children in care."
Organisation

"In essence, Koru often reaches young people who would not or could not access support through
other services."
