Mentoring provides a safe and empowering framework for clients of all ages to feel valued, heard and understood as they come to to terms with the circumstances of their lives.

Empathetic communication, coaching, motivation and goal setting help to develop confidence and relationship skills.

Koru mentors are teachers, special needs educators, artists and sports coaches who use their specialisms to support clients towards mental and emotional well being and to provide bespoke educational provision for children and young people.

Mentors seek to establish a supportive relationship in which the client may emotionally rest as they find it safe to trust and to be themselves. This enables each person to express their emotion freely in the secure containment of the mentor’s authentic regard.

The positive and attuned relationship between client and mentor helps to foster self-worth and resilience and models attuned and responsive communication.

The support of a trusted mentor during times of bereavement or loneliness, difficulties at school or at home, or during significant life changes may act as the bridge to new confidence and hope.
